Resources for Educators This section provides access to the many teacher resources at Mendocino County Office of Education, which include online teaching tools, the professional library, grant information and more! The Credential Services Unit supports and assists school districts, certificated employees, and credential applicants. National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) The NBTS is an independent, nonprofit, nonpartisan organization whose mission is to advance the quality of teaching and learning. Gaining certification through the NBPTS is a voluntary process open to teachers with a baccalaureate degree and three years of classroom experience. Through this effort, teachers may achieve distinction while strengthening their content knowledge and mastering new approaches to classroom instruction. The Mendocino County Office of Education sponsors a variety of professional development opportunities for teachers, principals, paraprofessionals, and parents.
