Community Relations
WAIVERS BP 1431.00
The County Board of Education may request that the State Board of Education grant waivers of certain provisions of the Education Code or the Code of Regulations, Title 5, when these provisions prevent the County Board from offering its students the best possible educational program.

The administration, staff and advisory committees and councils of the County Office may recommend areas in which the County Board should seek waivers within the jurisdiction of the County Board.

The County Board or designee shall consult with any advisory committees, councils or groups which might be affected by a waiver request.

The exclusive employee representative shall participate in the development of all general waiver requests that might affect the bargaining unit. The County Board shall hold a properly noticed public hearing on all general waiver requests. (Education Code 33050)
